Charlie and Salina Baik
Charlie and Salina currently serve as leaders of one of our Mixed Life Stages CGs.
"The memories, experiences, and blessings of being a part of the KCPC EC, will follow us for a lifetime as we continue living and loving for God’s kingdom."
Charlie and Salina Bahk are faithful believers and followers of Jesus Christ. Charlie was saved when he was 14 yrs old and Salina at the age of 24. They've been attending KCPC since the Summer of 2021. Charlie has served at two JG youth retreats, with the men's ministry, and with the fellowship ministry. Charlie is interested in running, fishing, woodworking, and BBQing. As for Salina, her appetite for the study of human behavior and the human condition through books, art, observation, and formal education, is unquenchable. She loves to travel, walking in nature, all things Disney, and animals!!
They have been serving as CG co-leaders, focusing on Holistic Health Ministry. This summer Charlie’s family will be moving to Texas to take on his next military assignment. The good news is that Charlie and Salina share their faith stories where ever and when ever they can. They are excited about what God has planned for their new “duty” location.
If possible, please take the time to connect or reconnect with Charlie and Salina before they leave.
"As a military family who has moved several times and will move again this summer, the memories, experiences, and blessings of being a part of the KCPC EC, will follow us for a lifetime as we continue living and loving for God’s kingdom." - Charlie Bahk
1. What is your favorite Bible verse?
Charlie: Psalm 23 (all of it). Throughout my childhood, my mom used to have me recite it in English and Korean. It’s all-encompassing: our God is good, provides us with everything we need until our “cup overflows”.
Salina: “It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed." Deuteronomy 31:8 ESV
2. Why did you decide to become a CG leader?
Charlie: Snacks/food, access to KCPC’s secret underground lounge, and guaranteed ticket to heaven. Jk. Peter & Patti Kim asked us to co-lead and we loved the servant culture (vice consumer culture) of KCPC EC. "Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms." - 1 Peter 4:10
Salina: We were new to the EC and I felt that God was calling us to use our gifts despite my discomfort in taking on more responsibilities. It’s been a growing and enriching experience.
3. How can we pray for you?
Charlie: 100% that God uses our family for His good will and blessing to others.
Salina: That our 3 children come to know and love the God that knows and loves them!
4. How have you been blessed during your time as a CG leader?
Charlie: God’s given us the opportunity to serve alongside this COMMUNITY. Life is very different when we’re actively involved with our CG through Christ! "Whoever brings blessing will be enriched, and one who waters will himself be watered." - Proverbs 11:25 (ESV)
Salina: This is such a loaded question!! The joy and closeness with God that I feel through His service, is unmatched.
5. If you could describe your CG in 3 words, what would they be?
Charlie: Wholeness Through Wellness. Our CG is ministry focused on Holistic Health. We help to raise awareness through mental health education and to provide support opportunities for healing holistically, restoring one’s body, mind and soul.
Salina: Since Charlie already hit on the core ministry focus of our CG, I will add: uplifting, diverse, and safe.
6. If you could only eat at one restaurant forever, what restaurant would it be?
Charlie: Sweet Tomatoes / Souplantation Has a little bit of everything. Our family loved going there all the time. Unfortunately the business became a COVID-casualty.
Salina: I agree with Charlie.
7. What is your favorite dessert?
Charlie: YES, please.
Salina: White cake with real whipped cream and fruit on top!
8. What was your favorite song in middle school?
Charlie: 1st of Tha Month - Bone Thugs-N-Harmony
Salina: My music taste was and is varied and I love music so it’s hard to pick just one but I’ll say, Just a Girl by No Doubt.
9. If you could time travel, would you rather go to the past or into the future? Why?
Charlie: To the past to spend some more time with my dad. …and to experience some of history’s greatest moments from Biblical times through present.
Salina: I guess the future because we already know what’s happened in the past?! I think I’m better off right where I am, though.
10. If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?
Charlie: The International Space Station. I think it would be fascinating to gain a better understanding of that domain and….make sure the Earth isn’t flat.
Salina: Snorkeling in the Great Barrier Reef!
